What is Rolling Korea? +

Rolling Korea is a Korean immersion company based in Seoul. We combine Korean language education, housing, activities, community, and daily local life into one experience designed for people who want to truly live Korea — not just visit it.

More than just a language school, Rolling Korea is built around connection, belonging, and real-life immersion in Seoul.

Can anyone join regardless of age? +

Yes. Anyone aged 16 or older can join our programs regardless of nationality or background.

During the Summer season, students aged 12 and older may also join selected programs.

We welcome students, professionals, travelers, career breakers, and even retirees from all around the world.

I've never studied Korean before. Can I still join? +

Absolutely. Many of our students start as complete beginners with no Korean language experience at all.

If you cannot read Korean (Hangul) yet, beginner classes usually start during the first week of each month.

Do I need a visa to register? +

Not always. It depends on your nationality and how long you plan to stay in Korea.

Many students join using K-ETA or a Working Holiday visa. In many cases, K-ETA allows stays of up to 90 days while studying Korean in short-term programs.

For longer stays, some students may need a student visa depending on their course duration and nationality.

How much does it cost to live in Korea? +

Seoul's public transport is one of the most affordable and efficient in the world. Here's what to expect:

Subway (Metro): KRW 1,400–1,650 per ride (T-money card) — flat rate within the city
City Bus: KRW 1,300–1,500 per ride — covers routes the metro doesn't
Taxi (regular): KRW 4,800 base fare + KRW 100 per 131m — most short trips stay under KRW 10,000
Kakao Taxi (app-based): same metered rate, easy to book in English
T-money card: rechargeable IC card used on all buses, subways, and taxis — get one at any convenience store for KRW 2,500

Most students spend KRW 50,000–100,000 per month on transport depending on how often they go out.

For day-to-day life in Seoul (2026 prices):

Eating out (local): KRW 8,000–12,000 for a meal at a Korean restaurant or gimbap place — budget students eat well on KRW 300,000–500,000/month
Café culture: KRW 5,000–7,000 for a coffee — Seoul has a café on every corner, easy to spend KRW 100,000+/month here
Convenience store meals: KRW 3,000–6,000 — a solid backup for busy days
Hongdae shopping (clothing): KRW 10,000–40,000 for casual streetwear — great value compared to most Western markets
K-beauty & skincare: KRW 5,000–30,000 per product — students typically spend KRW 30,000–80,000/month
Grocery shopping: KRW 150,000–300,000/month if you cook — large supermarkets like E-Mart and Homeplus have everything

Overall monthly living costs (excluding tuition & accommodation) typically range from KRW 600,000 to KRW 1,200,000 depending on lifestyle.

How do I choose the program duration? +

That depends on your goals and schedule.

Some students join for just 2–4 weeks to experience Korea, while others stay for several months for deeper immersion and language improvement.

Programs are available from a minimum of 2 weeks up to 52 weeks through our SY Course.

In general, we recommend at least 2 weeks to fully enjoy the experience and community atmosphere.

When can I start the program? +

Programs start every Monday throughout the year, allowing flexible enrollment based on your schedule.
