RK General Korean

Rolling Language Academy’s General Course may be our standard option, but it offers a comprehensive and well-balanced approach to learning Korean. Classes take place only in the mornings, giving students the chance to fully concentrate on essential language skills such as speaking, listening, reading, and writing in a focused and supportive environment. Because the afternoons are free, students can enjoy the best of both worlds — solid language learning in the morning and exciting cultural experiences in the afternoon. It’s a perfect choice for learners who want structured progress without giving up the freedom to explore and enjoy Korea.

Frequently Asked Questions

Even if it’s your first time learning Korean, you can start anytime. The classes begin from the basics and build up gradually, and our teachers will guide you every step of the way.
If you can’t read or write Hangul yet, it’s best to start in the first week of the month for smoother progress.

Yes, it is possible to enroll at Rolling Language Academy without a visa or with a tourist visa.
Course registration is open to students from all countries. However, since Rolling Language Academy is a private language school, it’s important to note that the academy cannot assist with the visa application process.

Most students at Rolling Language Academy come from countries that have a visa-waiver agreement with South Korea, which allows them to enter the country without a visa for short stays. After the payment is completed, the academy provides a letter of acceptance and a payment receipt. These documents can be used to apply for a short-term tourist visa, and a small document fee will apply.

Please be aware that Rolling Language Academy does not issue a guaranty letter or any documents other than the letter of acceptance. If the embassy asks for additional paperwork from the school, it will not be possible to provide it.

For this reason, it is strongly recommended to contact the Korean embassy in your country first to confirm whether a visa can be issued based on the documents provided.

Yes, it’s absolutely possible.

At Rolling Language Academy, you can register for classes for as short as one week or up to one year. Long-term registration is available at any time. Each year, especially in April and September, we offer a Long-Term Study Abroad Program that comes with various benefits. If you join during these months, you can enjoy special offers like tuition discounts and even Asia Tours. Regarding visas, you can either apply for a working holiday visa or stay in Korea without a visa (tourist visa).

If you come without a visa, you’re usually allowed to stay in Korea for up to 90 days. Before your 90 days are up, you can leave the country—often with a short trip to a nearby country like Japan—and then return to Korea. This way, your stay is renewed for another 90 days.

* If you’re planning to stay without a visa, we strongly recommend that you check the latest visa rules through the Korean embassy in your country, as they can vary by nationality.

As for the budget, it is quite hard to say as one’s spending habits differ greatly from person to person. What we can provide, that might be helpful for you to calculate how much money you may need, is the following information:

  • Cost of a meal: 3,000 KRW (Kimbap from Convenience store) ~ 8,000 KRW (usual restaurants)/ up to 15,000 KRW
  • transportation: 1,250 ~ 1,750 KRW one-way

If we are saying that ‘Fluent’ means you can basically talk about general daily topics in Korean, it will take at least six months starting from a beginner level. If you wish to be more fluent in terms of speaking naturally at a higher level, such as debating on social topics, you would need to spend one year or more studying Korean. But this really depends on each individual.

Rolling Language Academy offers three different Korean courses to suit different learning needs and schedules: the General Korean Course, the Semi-Intensive Korean Course, and the Intensive Korean Course. Each course varies by the number of class hours per week, so students can choose the one that best fits their goals.

  • The General Korean Course is a good option for those interested in both the Korean language and culture.
  • The Semi-Intensive Korean Course is recommended for learners who want to make faster progress, study in smaller groups, and receive more personalized attention from the teacher.
  • The Intensive Korean Course is designed for students who want to focus more on speaking. This course includes classes every weekday except Wednesday.

Both the Semi-Intensive and Intensive Korean Courses include all the lessons from the General Korean Course.

We are sorry, but the social activity schedule is usually provided on the school orientation day. Everything will be prepared to give you special experiences and memorable moments through our events!
